a. Note:   N380 From Betty J. Dennard King (3/99): Adam Teel Sr. Family Tree. Jane Teel b. abt 1808, m. James Witcher and moved to Texas. THIS IS THE 1ST I'VE HEARD OF THIS CHILD 11 Apr 2001 e-mail from Chris Morton (see husband's Notes) After Illinois, James and Jane moved with their family to Texas in the late 1850-early 1851 time frame. Jane appears with James K. Witcher and their childred in Hamilton County in 1860 census, and in 1870 she is living with her daughter Jemima and her husband F.M. Carter, while James in living in a separate house with the kids and three other people. In 1872 James and Adam are killed and a year later Adam's wife dies (there is question that she may have been killed also). Sometime after all this Jane moves to Montague county and sometime (I haven't got records yet) she tries to get custody of Adam and Amanda's three boys. She appears in the 1880 census of Hamilton county - but it is believed she was living in Montague. She is buried there, from what I am told.
