Note: [ralphroberts.ged] [roberts.GED] [poliksa.ged] Richard was the 2nd Baron Talbot, summoned to Parliament from 5 June, 1331, to 22 Oct., 1355, by writ to "Ricardo Talbot de Castro Goderici," County Hereford. This nobleman married Elizabeth, daughter and co-heir of John Comyn, of Badenach, in Scotland, by Joan, his wife, sister and co-heir of Aymer de Valence, Lord of Pembroke. In her right, claiming anno 1331, certain lands in Scotland, and adhering to Edward Baloil, who then preferred pretensions to the crown, would have invaded that country, but was prevented by Edward III, whose sister Joane had been married to David Bruce, son of Robert Bruce, King of Scotland. Richard Talbot was seated at Goodrich Castle, was a Knight Banneret, Governor and Justice of Berwick 1337, Governor of Southampton 1339. Steward of the King's Household 1346.
