Note: [ralphroberts.ged] [roberts.GED] [richard.ged] From the book on York (Historic Towns) Edward spent Christmas 1311 with his favorite, Gaveston at York, ran out of money and went to Newcastle-on-Tyne for more. Thomas, Earl of Lancaster went after them but they got away to Scarborough. Gaveston went into the castle and Edward hastened to York for help, but they got Gaveston (probably his lover). Later (1316) while at York with the queen (Isabela who was having an affair with our grandfather, Roger Mortimer) Edward entertained Gaveston's widow, the Countess of Cornwall. Humm.
