He was a very opinionated person, and hated to admit having beenwrong. In a conversation with his daughter, Lynn, shortly before hisdeath, he did state that one of his opinions concerning life on otherplanets (he didn't believe in it) may not be correct. She thought thatwas a milestone! Arthur did not believe in religion, and was agnostic. He argued hispoint on many occasions with ministers and missionaries. During theyears he sold real estate in Kissimmee, Florida, one of his best friendswas an evangelist named P.W. Hayes. Although they disagreed on religion, they respected each other greatly. The neighborasked Arthur to come up, and water was located. The well driller dugwhere Arthur had indicated, and found water. When Arthur was in the hospital during his final illness, at onepoint he looked off across the room, and a look of recognition cameacross his face. He raised his fingers in the "OK" sign, smiled andnodded. His daughter Lynn wondered if he saw something that brought himpeace, and what that might have been.
