Volume 2, ED 23, Sheet 7, Line 82, BerkshireCounty, Adams Township BIOGRAPHY: Arthur was a kind person who treated his family well. He waskind to animals, and taught his children to be the same. A favoritestory tells how he was coming in from work one day, and after leaving thebarn in the dark, stooped to pet one of the cats. No sooner were thewords, "Hello there, kitty" spoken, when he was sprayed by the skunk hehad mistaken for a cat. When he was cutting wood one day, he suffered a heart attack. Hecalled his hound to come over and stay with him until the pain passed, and he could go home. (I am not sure if this was the heart attack he hadthat sent the family went up into the woods to find him, or if it was theone he had before his last one.) He loved Azilda very much, and was very affectionate towards her. Heoften asked her if she had it to do over, would she still marry him. Shealways assured him she would. When his son Arthur was young, he received a pocket knife forChristmas. Shortly after that, he lost it. The next year, he receivedthe same pocket knife...his father had found it and wrapped it for him, without a word about the incident. He was a jack of all trades, and built the family home on 44 RandallStreet in Adams. While they were never well off, Arthur always providedfor his family, was a good husband, and a good father.
