Note: Janette's sister.Obituary "Oct. 7 1904 Mrs. James E. Simpson Dead. A patheticsequel to the burial of Col. James E. Simpson of Norfolk, Neb.,in the cemetery here last Monday afternoon, was the arrival ofthe remains of his wife and their interment beside him just aweek afterward, on Monday afternoon. Although herself in poorhealth, during the illness of her husband she cared for himtenderly and faithfully until the physicians told herthattherewas no hope for him, when she was stricken with paralysis, andhad to be removed to a hospital. Her maiden name was Mary A.Rankin, and she married to Mr. Simpson July 7, 1860, and throughher long life here was esteemed by her friends and acquaintancesas a noble woman of lovable disposition, and she will be deeplymourned."
