DEATH:
Of whom no one seems to know anything, is a 1873[43?] Westmore, Vt. town clerk office record that reads: "died this year: Peter Rash (son of Jack & Rhoda)". Since Peter4, husband of Julia Carpenter, d. 1904; it would seem that this is his father, Pierre/Peter3--who m. Magdeleine Florent and who would have been born ab. 1790/1800. Recent research has uncovered the mcs of Pierre & Magdeleine's dau'rs Elsie and Marie which state Pierre and Magdeleine were both deceased in 1849 and at least Pierre deceased as early as 1846 -- so, the record may have been 1843 vs. 1873.
However, Pierre and Magdeleine's mc lists his parents as "Joseph Pinart dit R�eche and Marie-Josephte Girard (dec'd)":
Pierre3 Raiche {son of Joseph2 Pinart/R�eche/Beauchemin and Marie-Josephte Girard} m. Nicolet Aug. 6, 1822 Magdeleine Florent {dau. Antoine Florent/Beauchemin/Pinard and Magdeleine Lasprone/Lacharit�e}
Which leads one to surmise that "Jack" may be a corruption of "Jos'ph" or "Jos't" and that "Rhoda" may be a corruption of "Girard/Gharde".
Or, "Jack" may be a close cousin of Pierre/Peter3. 1846: deceased per dau.mc 1849: deceased per dau.mc 1850: deceased per dau.mc CENSUS:
1840: No "Rash", "Raiche", or "Reich" listed on the single page of the census for the Town of Westmore, Vt.
