Note: Obituary: Hamilton, Mrs. Clara H., Battle Creek, MI, died Wednesday afternoon, November 1, 1994 in Battle Creek. Mrs. Hamilton was born June 3, 1905 in Middleville, MI, the daughter of Israel and Inez (Jensen) Haff. She received her B.A. degree from Western Normal College. She was a charter member of the Pilgrim Holiness Church, now called Spring Valley Wesleyan Church, where she was active in the Mission Society and many other aspects of church work. She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar Cecil Hamilton in 1959; and by 2 brothers and 1 sister. Surviving are 2 daughters, 2 sons, and their spouses, Paul and Carol Hamilton of Jackson, MI, Lois and Rev. Vern Hettinger of Battle Creek, MI, Wilfred and Jacqueline Hamilton of Augusta, MI, Joann and George Higgins of Lake City, MI; a step-daughter and husband, Bernice and Arnold Forslund; 18 grandchildren; a brother, Francis Haff of Potterville, MI. Services will be held 11:00 Saturday at the Cornerstone Community Church (corner of Helmer and Beckley, 1 block south of I-94) with her son-in-law Rev. Vern Hettinger, and Rev. Pamela Babcock and Rev. Raymond Babcock officiating. Interment in Cook Cemetery, Scotts. Memorial contributions may be made to Cornerstone Community Church (A Free Methodist Congregation) or a charity of your choice. The family will receive friends Thursday and Friday evenings from 7-9 p.m. at the Langeland Memorial Chapel, 622 S. Burdick. (Kalamazoo Gazette, Nov. 3, 1994, p. C5)
