Note: Cival War Veteran. Corporal Jan 04,1864-Oct 09, 1864. Co. J, 3rd regiment, PA. heavy artillery and Co. H-188 reg Pa. infantry. David was granted a pension in 1912. These papers state that he was honorably discharged at Alexanderm W. Va. on the 9th of Oct, 1865. He was described as being 5'1/2", fair complexion, blue eyes and dark hair. His occupation was listed as farmer. His places of residence since leaving the service are listed as Jacksonville, Butler Co. and Rosepoint, Wampum and New Castle, all in Lawrence Co. Pa. Discharge recorded Vol 6, pg 289. David states on his application for a pension that he was married to Nannie Stickle on April 08, 1868 in Rose Point, Pa., by squire James P. Aiken. He also states that there is no record of this marriage because the marriage certificate burned in a house fire in March of 1906.
