Eastwold was born ca 1890, based on his college graduation ca 1911-13, probably born in Iowa. He was in the Chemical Warfare Service of the U.S. Army from before 1920 and was stationed at Edgewood Arsenal, Harford Co, MD, in the 1930s, was probably in Washington, D.C. and overseas during WWII and was stationed at Rocky Mountain Arsenal, Denver, CO, in the late 1940s. His daughter, Jane, married 1943, McGlachlin Hatch. She died in 2004 and he died last July 31st. I don't have access to Ancestry.com. ----------------- Oscar A. 43, married Delia H. 39 when he was 32. He was a Soldier in the Regular Army whose father was also born in IA, his mother in Nebraska as per the 1930 census. There is an Oscar A. Eastwold 18 (the right age) living with what appears to be his family in the 1905 census for Le Roy, Mower Cty., Minnesota. His next oldest, and younger siblings were also born in MN, but the older ones were born in Norway as were his parents. Could this be the right family? There is also an Oscar A. Eastwold born 4 Apr 1887 in Michigan who died 28 Jan 1966 in San Francisco according to the California Death Index. His mother (Maiden name Ingesborg) was born in Michigan. Father's birth place blank. THIS is most likely him as his wife Delia (Holmes) Eastwold, whose mother's maiden name was Shattuck, is on the same page of the California death index. There is a discrepancy in his place of birth but that is not uncommon. RCK 27 Oct 2007
