Title: Genealogie oder Beschreibung smtlicher eigenbehriger Leute und Stellen 1658-1669 (State Archive Hannover: Hann. 74 Diepholz 1363)
Publication: a volume of detailed multi-generation ancestries prepared in 1667-68 by the administrators of Amt Lemfrde
Note: The holder of the Hagen farm in Lembruch was by tradition an "Ekehper," one of eight in the village. They were required to provide free lodging for government officials when they visited to hold periodic judicial sessions as well as for huntsmen of the local noblility. They were further required to give a fish (called a "wedding fish") to each government official in Amt Lemfrde on specified holidays. Consequently, they were excused from paying annual quitrents to the Amt for their farms. (Source: Hausbuch oder Erbregister des Ambtshauses Lewenforde [Hann. 74 Diepholz, Nr. 7].)
