a. Note:   !Sources: "Mayflower Families Through Five Generations" V. 3 Deeds of Plymouth Co., Mass Bk 22 pg 81 Memory Book of Samuel West, grandson of Wm., son of Francis, published in "Mayflower Desc." V. 26 Plymouth Vital Records in "Mayflower Desc." V. 13 and 14 Biography of Richard Waste (1662) from "Mayflower Families...": Richard was taxed in No. Kingstown, R.I. by the Andros decree Sept. 1687 with his father and brother Francis Wast (West) sen. and jun. Francis jun, his brother, in his will used the surname Wast but his children in RI records changed to Weast or West. Richard and his son Charles, however, continued to use Wast or Waste in public records, but wife and widow Elizabeth and others of this family also appear as West. He was one of the founders of the Congregational Church in Lakeville 12 Oct 1725. On 29 Nov 1715 the selectmen of Middleboro exchanged lot No. 16 in Plympton for lot 27 lying in Middleboro then owned by Richard Waste. This was acknowledged 20 June 1725 by Richard with no wife concurrence. (This account said no record has been found for the distribution of this property but there is one indexed by the name Richard Waite (15-139, 13-145 or 22-93?). Richard was called "Miller of Taunton" in the deed naming his son Charles. He died intestate and his widow, Elizabeth Wast was appointed 1 Apr 1728 administratrix of his personal estate. Death date listed is probate date.
