Note: Obituary: After being confined to her bed for the past eleven months from a complication of diseases, Mrs. Fanny (Morris) Hill, wife of Jay D. Hill and familiarly known to many as "Aunt Fanny," died in the family home, Oakland Avenue and Tenth street, Saturday afternoon. The deceased was born in Pine Flats June 22, 1875, a daughter of the late Robert M. and Elizabeth Morris. Later the family home was removed to Center township, near the Lytle schoolhouse and from thence to Indiana, where the deceased had since lived. Mr. Morris conducted a grocery store, much patronized by the students of the West End Public School and the Normal School and after his death his daughter and her husband continued in the store, which gained a wide and enviable reputation. The deceased was a charter member of Una Lodge, Daughters of Rebekah, and was associated with the membership of the Dames of Malta and Dorcas Club. She had been a member of the First Regular Baptist Church for 40 years and was president of the Ladies Aid Society for 20 years. Possessed of many charming attributes of character and a friend on whom one could depend, she leaves many friends, who sincerely mourn her passing. On May 24, 1899 she was married to Mr. Hill. She leaves her husband; a son, Raymond Hill, at home, and two brothers: Harry Morris of Westmoreland county and Guy Morris of Sapulpa, Okla.
