Note:   Source: Ancestry.com - WW II Army Enlistment Records, 1938-1946 Obituary: Dale L. Brenenstall was born 28 April 1920 in Peoria, Illinois-the son of John W. and Beulah Brenenstall. When he was 5 years old, the family moved to Denver, Colorado. A sister, Shirley joined the family and Dale was later employed in the Parts Department of the Caterpillar distributorship. In 1938, he graduated from East High. War rumors persisted. Dale drove to the east coast to visit New York City, friends, and other points of interest. Then he met Dolores McKinney, a student nurse. On 7 December 1941, World War II was declared. On 2 January 1942, he enlisted in the Army Air Corp and was sent to Davis-Monathan AFB in Tucson, Arizona. After 4 years he was discharged as a T/Sgt. Admin and Tech. Clerk from the 61st Bombardment Squad, 39th Bombardment Group in Indiantown Gap, Military Res., Pa. On 11 January 1943 Dale and Dolores were married in the AFB Chapel in Tucson. After he was discharged from the military, they moved back to Denver and Dale returned to his former job. They built their own home and were the parents of three children. In July 1960, the family moved to Sacramento, California, where he continued employment with the Caterpillar distributorship. The family enjoyed travels and activities and was active supporters of the USO. Using his wood working ability, Dale built wooden toys, furniture and needed projects. Also, he was an avid reader. Dale's widowed father and Dolore's parents moved to Sacramento sharing their adult years and were helped when needed. Dale retired after 52 years with the Caterpillar dealerships, 26 years in Denver and 26 years in Sacramento. He was a member of the American Legion, Post 1000; the Genealogical Association of Sacramento; and the Valley Grace Community Church. He passed away on 17 April 2006 in Sacramento, California at the age of 86 years. Survived by his wife of 63 years and Daughter Karen, her son Clinton Morell and daughter Maureen Buchan (husband Troy) Daughter Sharon Osborne (husband Allen), her son Jeremiah and daughter Alynn Son Michael (wife Denise), son Jonathan and daughters Katelynn, Madelynn, and Alyson Sister Shirley Olsen (husband Lawrence), her daughter Teri, Cheryl, and Lorie and their families Sister-in-law Joanne Brown (husband Ed), her daughter Jacqueline and son Aric Brother-in-law Marvin McKinney Friends and other relatives
