Note:   Newspaper Obituary: The Times Recorder 29 October 1952 Funeral services for George Thomas Layton, 76, of 548 Wilson Ave. Coshocton, who died 27 October, will be conducted from the Assembly of God Church Wednesday at 2 p.m. with Rev. E.B. Johnson officiating. Burial will be in South Lawn Cemetery. He died at his home Monday following an illness of 4 months. He was born 5 October 1876 at Dresden, son of James and Eliza Jane St. Clair Layton. On January 4, 1910 he was married to former Effie Mae Berry, who survives. He was a retired employee of the American Art Works Co., in Coshocton, having been associated with the firm for 47 years, and a member of the Assembly of God Church. Surviving besides the widow are 2 sons, Leroy of Coshocton, and Ralph D. of Canton: 1 daughter, Mrs. Carlton Fox of Coshocton; 2 brothers: Frank Layton of Akron and Sam Layton of Zanesville; 1 sister, Mrs. Guy Lynn of Zanesville and 4 grandchildren. Two sons, one brother and four sisters are deceased.
