Note: 1636, October 6 - Papers of the Maule Family, Earls of Dalhousie, NAS, GD45/18/221 Tack to David Doge in Luimlaithane and Margaret Smith, his wife, of the north-west quarter of the lands of the Maynes of Downie 1646, March 14 - GD45/18/280 Tack to David Doge and Margaret Smith, his spouse, of the north-west quarter of Mains of Downie, infield and outfield The testament testamentar of David Doig in Maynes of Downie [Mains of Downie, Monikie] was recorded 10 Feb 1659 in the Brechin Commissary Court. It names his wife Margaret Smithe as executrix. It also mentions a daughter Barbara Dog, and James Dog, Hendrie, Dog, and Johne Doig with relationship not noted, presumed to be his brothers. Also named are Hendrie H...sone, James Mudie, and James Watt. The will appears to have been written the prior March. [difficult to read]
