Note:   Will of Bold Robin In the Name of God Amen.- I, Bold Robin Hood of Barbour County being weak of body but, of sound and perfet (perfect) mind and memory, thanks be to God for the same and calling to mind the mortality of my body and knowing that it is appointed for all men once to die do make and ordain this Instrument to contain my Last Will and Testament in manner and form following (To Witt) I give to my son Joshua T. Hood my Bed and Bed Clothes, my Silver Spoon, all my hard money, my Trunk and all that is in it, all my Clothes, my Frying pan, and all the tools I brought to this House to him and his Heirs forever. I give unto my son Daniel S. Hood my surveying Instruments to him and his Heirs forever. I give to my Grand Daughter Mary Jane Hood my Silver Tea Spoons to her and her Heirs forever. I give my Shot Gun and my Grindstone to my Grandson Daniel S. Hood to him and his Heirs forever. Also my will and desire is that when my Grandson Daniel S. Hood arrives to the age of Twenty one years that my Executor sell at public sale Six Months Credit at some public place my Island Land in the Fork (?) of Tea River and equilly (equally) divide the money between my Two Grandsons, Bold Bobin Hood son of Joshua T. Daniel Stone Hood c1833. He was b. 21 Jan 1812 in Goldsboro, Wayne Co., NC. By 1833 they were living in Barbour Co., AL where Daniel was listed in the state census as over 21 living with four females under 21. Their first child was born in 1835, so I don't know who else was living with them in 1833. Their children: Mary Jane Hood b. 1835 who m. Thomas James Barnes (my ancestor); Eliza Jane Hood b. 1837; Daniel Stone Hood b. before 20 Sept. 1838; Charlotte Jane Hood b. 1841; Sarah Jane Hood b. 1843; John Cogdell Hood b. 1845; Gustavous Adolphus Hood b. 1847; Bold Richard Hood b. 1849; Martha Jane Hood b. about 1852; Tolbert Van Dorris Hood b. 13 June 1856 and Arthur Elzy Hood b. about 1862. Bold Robin Hood had connections with the Jernigan family. He was the guardian of Calvin Jernigan circa 1822 , Johnston Co., NC court records. Bold Robin Hood was a witness with Joseph Strickland on 14 Dec. 1811 in Johnston Co. when Lewis Jernigan gave a deed of a gift to his son Wiley.
