Note: Originally from Ireland, The McGuires eventuall migrated from Maryland by way of Conewago, a staunch Catholic settlement located just over the border into Pennsylvania, then settled in Huntington County, Pennsylvania. The McGuires were in the same area all the time and did not migrate much once the settled in Allegheny Township, Cambria County, Pennsylvania but the boundries of the counties changed; Cambria was formed from parts of Somerset, Blair, and Bedford Counties. Peden Jr). 1760 Sept. 17 Andrew Mcguire gets survey on 40 a called "Weavers Lott' (Maryland Office, Surveys Frederick Co. # 5035). 1760 Sept. 20 Andrew McGuire of Frederick Co. Md. patents 40 a called "Weavers Lott" Warrant on Mar. 24, 1760. Survey returned Sept. 14, 1760 (Land Patents BC&GS # 16 pg 321). 1763 Andrew McGuire taxed in Debt book of Frederick Co. Md. for 40 a of "Weavers Lott". 1766 Andrew McGuire taxed in Debt book of Frederick Co. Md. for 40 a of "Weavers Lott". 1768-1773 Andrew Mcguire taxed in Debt book of Frederick Co. Md. 40 a of "Weavers Lott". Dec. 12, 1769 Andrew McGuire and Peter McMullen were sureties for a Patrick or Judah Burk. One of these was the dec. and one was the administrator but i couldn't tell which was which (Testementary Proceedings, Provincial Court Liber 43 pg 451).
