Note: His name may be spelled Shadrick, he changed the spelling from Shadwick. He was called Ode by some of the family. My grandmother, his sister Martha Shadwick Slay was separated from her brothers and sent to live with different relatives and did not locate her brothers until some years after she married and looked for them. Their parents died when they were very young.
