  Have found no record of Frederick's immigration. However, census indicates he emigrated in 1885. Have found wife Catherine and four children emigrated in 1885, arriving in New York on Dec. 14, 1885. Frederick was naturalized in 1896 in DeKalb Co., Illinois.
  Affidavit by Frederick's mother in Civil War Pension file indicates Frederick's name may have been John Frederick Spansail.
