a. Note:   An article titled "Roger Barton of Westchester County, N.Y., and Some of His Earlier Descendants," by George E. McCracken was published in The New England Historical and Genealogical Register (NEHGR) in serial form in 1952-1953. The October, 1953, issue, page 303, stated that Lucinda Barton, daughter of James Barton, was born on October 27,1816, and that her sister, Clarinda Barton, was born on November 27, 1816. Sisters born one month apart is an eye opener. It is also a typographical error. As indicated in the article, the data was from a Family Bible reported by Paul A. Barton of La Crosse, Wisconsin. In fact, the data reported by Paul A. Barton was that Lucinda Barton was born on October 27, 1818, not 1816. The data reported by Paul A. Barton was from a hand written copy of the family pages of the Family Bible. The copy is in my possession.
