Taylor, 385 Twentieth Street, Marion, who began working for the Milwaukee railroad in September, 1898, was retired on pension May 1. Beginning work in the store room of the railroad at Marion, he wa made a fireman August 19, 1900. On February 25, 1907, he was promoted to engineer. For the last 20 years he has been in charge of engines in the Cedar Rapids yards and for a number of years has been operating Diesel Engine No. 1603. Although Mr. Taylor has been in several wrecks, the most serious injury he ever received was a broken nose. Born in Springville, Mr. Taylor has made his home in Marion 44 years. "I've worked ever since I was 13 years old." he said when interviewed last week, "and it is pretty hard to tell just how I will like this retirement. But I intend to keep busy with my garden and flowes and to spend a great deal of time hunting and fishing." DEATH: Death was caused by: Cerebral Vascular Accident Due to: Generalized and coronary sclerosis due to Myocardial degeneration
