Note: e milk on a horse and cart, until she met Dad and they got married in 1936. She was a very good horse woman and also participated in Horse trotting. She was not very tall and had dark brown curly hair. She was very good looking, not going grey until she was in her 70s, and always dressed very smart and stylish. She was a lovley lady and thoroughly enjoyed all her grandchildren and often had them to stay in the school holidays. Mum developed cancer not long after Matthew's cancer was diagnosed. They never knew that each other were terminally ill as we thought it wise not to tell them. Mum celebrated her 80th birthday party at home, which was her wish. She received lots of cards, presents and flowers. Matthew came with us(Claire was in Plymouth Uni at the time and couldnt get home) but was violently sick on the way home and became very ill and died 5 weeks later without her knowing as she was also terminally ill in hospital at the time.
