Note: th" Brylcream", which we always bought him for his birthdays and christmas when we were young.
I always remember him as being a loving parent and probably because I was the only girl he tended to spoil me a little. He suffered over the years with a bad chest and was in and out of various hospitals. He also sufferedd with sinus problems. Because of this he was unable to work permanently and so worked during the summer months for the Iris cafe in Rhyl, which he was a chef and managed it for a Mr Perkins. He used to make lovely dinners but Mum was the cake maker making tasty cakes.
After the army Dad did various jobs such as, Furniture remover and Painter and once worked away painting but I didnt like him being away. He became an excellent snooker player and went on to become the Welsh champion in the 1950s.
He also played for local clubs, Conservative and Labour and winning lots of prizes and cups. I still have one of his cups and one of his prizes which as a biscuit barrel.
