Note: 1 years and went to the Rhyl Grammar School. He hated it there, so after 2 years, left to go to Glyndwr Secondary Modern School where he passed 10 F.C.E.S(the equivilant to todays G.C.S.E.) and even went on to obtain an A level in Art. He enjoyed cooking, like my father, and took cookery classes in school much to the amusement of his friends. He then joined the Royal Navy as a chef at the age of 16 years and travelled all over the world. He was also a baker and confectioner, even demonstrating his skills in Hotel Olympia Exhibition in London in the 60s. He made my wedding cake whilst on board one of the ships. In 1972 he met his wife June and they were married on Saturday 16 December 1972. Michael came out of the Navy and had various jobs as a chef and a baker & confectioner in various hotels. Their son Ian was born in 1973, Alan in 1975 then Andrew, in 1977(who sadly passed away from cot death the same year) and Alyson was born in 1978. At first they lived in Prestatyn in a flat then moved to live in Mostyn later. A few years later they spilt up and Michael came home to live with Mum for a while. He was very depressed and took an overdose but Mum found him in time and he was taken by ambulance to the Royal Alexandra hospital, Rhyl, where he recovered. After this he became a very unhappy missed his children dreadfully but June made it very difficult and he didnt have any money for bus fairs etc and then he started to drink quiet seriously. When Mum died in 1993 he seemed to give up and soon became an alcoholic. He was also a very heavy smoker so these 2 things eventually caused his cancer and he sadly passed away.
