Note: !REFN Obituary of Gertrude Sabel Cincinnati Enquirer [Cincinnati, Ohio] August 15, 1943 Sabel - Gertrude Sabel (nee Hoffstadt), beloved wife of the late John Sabel; dearly beloved mother of Sister Mary Regis, Sister Mary Barbara, O.F.M., Gertrude Marxer, Mary, John, August, Henry and Pvt. William Sabel. Friday, August 13, 1943, at residence, R.R. 8, Tobasco, Ohio, aged 64 years. Funeral, Monday, August 16, from the Riedlinger funeral home, 19 Green St. at 8:30 a.m. Requiem high mass St. Thomas Church, R.R. 1, Withamsville, Ohio at 9:30 a.m. !NOTE Gertrude developed a tumor in her uterus which caused a blockage in the intestines and bladder. She was buried in Ohio because the family could not obtain enough gas ration cards to bring her body home to Ottenheim to be buried beside her husband.
