Note: Beryl was tutored at home for grade school and graduated from high school in Houston, Texas. She later earned degrees from Southwestern University in Georgetown, Texas, and Rice Institute. Before her marriage, she taught English and music for she was a classical pianist. After she hooked up with David, she supported his career and helped raise two boys. In her 60s, she delighted the family when she became the arts editor of the Wichita Falls newspaper. She covered the plays and the musical events and wrote a Sunday column. After her husband's death, she moved to Dallas where she enjoyed cultural pursuits until her death at 85.
