Jerry L. "Pops" Saffold, 65, residing in Mishawaka, IN passed away at 10:30 PM Saturday, February 27, 2010 at his home. He was employed as a Lecturer Associate for Indiana University South Bend for ten years. Jerry was born on November 10, 1944 in Knoxville, TN to Charles and Jenny (Whitehead) Saffold. On October 8, 1987 in Florida he married Janet L. (Stickler) Saffold, who survives.
Jerry loved his ever faithful dog, "Tuko". He was a Vietnam Army Veteran having served in the 82nd Airborne. Jerry graduated from Indiana University South Bend with an Associate degree in Communications. He loved his Harley and enjoyed collecting knives. He loved nature and outside. Jerry was devoted and loved his family very much.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, March 5, 2010 at Palmer Funeral Homes-River Park, 2528 Mishawaka Ave, South Bend. Rev. Ed Erskin will officiate. Friends may visit with the family from Noon Friday until time of services in the funeral home.
