a. Note:   It is speculated at this point, but not proven, that Elizabeth is the daughter of Jacob Barncord and his wife Catherine. The will of Jacob Barncord, of Greencastle, Franklin County, Pennsylvania lists a daughter Elizabeth, although her married surname is not given. In the 1850 census, Elizabeth Barncord Gipe is living in Montgomery Township, Franklin County, Pennsylvania in the same township as Jacob Barncord (1820), son of Jacob Barncord (1792) and Catherine.
  Elizabeth Gipe sold her property in Concord Twp, Bureau County, Illinois on March 11, 1892. She is listed as a widow, therefore it is speculated that George Gipe died before this date.
