Note: ale on the streetcar with Arthur and then met at a local dance in 1920. The wedding ceremony was held at noon in the parsonage. Attendants were Anna Paton (sister of the bride) and Bill Engelhaupt. The Rev. Bischoff of the English Lutheran Church officiated. "The bride was prettily gowned in sand colored crepe with bead trimming and wore a hat to match. She wore a corsage bouquet of ophelia roses. Miss Anna Paton wore a navy blue georgette gown with silver trimming, hat to match and a corsage of California roses." (LaSalle Daily Tribune - Sept. 9, 1922) There was a family wedding dinner held at the Paton home. The couple then left via train for a week long honeymoon in Chicago and Racine, Wisc. They stayed with relatives in both towns (Adolph Pfitzer in Chicago; Patons in Racine). Jean Paton Sale remembered visiting Rivereview Park and going to shows in Chicago. Upon their return to LaSalle they went to live with Henry's parents on the farm outside of Peru. The night of their return they were "shivareed" by the area people.
