Note: Polly Lucy Staloch, 90 Karlstad - Polly Lucy Staloch, 90, died Tuesday, February 11, 1997 at Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center. Arrangements were with Collins Funeral Home of Karlstad. Funeral services were held Friday, February 14 at St. Edward's Catholic Church in Strandquist. Burial was in St. Edward's Catholic Cemetery in Strandquist. Polly was born on December 18, 1906 in Florian, the daughter of Martin and Mary (Safranski) Pietruszewski. She attended school and grew to womanhood there, and was baptized and confirmed at the Assumption Catholic Church in Florian. On May 11, 1926 she was united in marriage to Anzelm Staloch at Florian. The couple farmed in Wanger Township, Marshall County, near Argyle, for 12 years, then moved to Karlstad where they resided for five years. They then moved to Strandquist where they operated a service station for several years. Polly was a long-time member of St. Edward's Catholic Church of Strandquist. Anzelm died October 24, 1982, and in 1985 Polly moved to Oakwood Homes in Karlstad. Since April of 1991 she has resided at Karlstad Memorial Nursing Center. She is survived by sons Leonard (Eulalie) of Stephen, Conrad (Evelyn) of Karlstad, and James (Joanne) of Isanti; daughters Lorriane (Henry) Bengtson of Karlstad, and Sharon Wayne of Blaine; 19 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; daughter Delphine; sons Robert and Rudolph; brothers John, Frank, Anton, Felix, Stanley and Thomas; and sisters Helen, Mary, Martha and Elsie.
