Notes
a. Note:   N11 Took Mexican citizenship in 1942, changed name to Tomas Jorge SUTTON Pea, in the Mexican fashion of putting mother's maiden name last. Citizenship documents, birth and death papers in possession of this compiler, Francesca Sutton. Also have letters and many other documents relating to Thomas. He and Katherine DeBernardi were divorced in 1956. He remarried 6 weeks after the divorce was final, to a former schoolteacher, Veloy Humphries Cowan. Most of his life, he was called "Tommy". He wanted to be an artist, singer, composer, but his father refused to have a son of his in art, so forced him to work in a pipe factory one summer. Some pipes fell on his hand, and he lost two fingers from his left hand, which meant he could never play guitar or piano again. He ended by working for his father in the family metals and hardware company for the rest of his life, doing office work, and hated it. Mostly he just used his spare time for partying and drinking. He was an alcoholic. <Ancestry.com> 1930 U.S. Federal Census - if you're a subscriber, you can view the image of the actual census page; this listed the entire family, on Montview Blvd. in Denver Colorado: Sutton, Ishriel [sic], head, age 45; Concha P, wife, age 36; Thomas G.
