He also served in the U.S. Navy in The Mexican Campaign and later returned and served as a Yoman 1/C in WW1. He was also a Mason and a Shriner. \par \par Obituary: \par \par Harry Coverston Dies: \par Former Pittsburg Resident, 61, succumbs in Florida. Mrs. Elizabeth Coverston of 410 South Chestnut, received word this morning of the death of her son, Harry E. Coverston, 761, a former redident of Pittsburg who died at 3 o'clock this morning at Ft. Myers, Fla. \par Born May 24, 1894 in Pittsburg, Mr. Coverston lived herer until 1911 when he enlisted inthe Navy. He was married to Mary Reed April 3 1917 and moved to Florida in 1925. Mr. Coverston was a retired civil engineer. \par Survivors other than the mother are one daughter, Mrs. Tom Strickland, Gainesville, Fla, two sons, Sam Coverston and David Coverston both of La Belle Fla, two sisters, Miss Louise Coverston, 410 North Cestnut, Mr.s Clifford Armstrong, Ridgecrest, Calif., and one brother, J. Bye Coverston, Sulfer Springs, Ark. One son, Harry Coverston Jr. is deceased. Funeral services wil be held in Fort Myers. \par \par Harry Ethelbert Coverston born 24 May 1894 Crawford, Kansas married Marie Vas and had daughter Harriet Coverston and he died 22 Mar 1956 in Ft. Myers FL and was buried in the City Cemetery in Ft. Myers,FL.
