a. Note:   Samuel Brown born 43 Foyle St. Belfast, Ireland. Baptised at the Ballydown Presbyterian Church, Banbridge, Co. Down, Ireland. Rev. James Wilson, Minister. His Father, John Brown, listed as Traveller. (Traveling Salesman)
  Dad left home when he was 12? The City Directory for 1892 lists a Brown, Saml, Clk. 909 Liberty Ave. h Herron Ave. n Lyon. The City directory for 1893 lists a Brown, Saml., Clerk. Herron Ave. n L:yon. After some minor jobs he went to work for Consolidated Ice Co. in Pittsburgh, Pa. In the winter he was the Timekeeper at Stoneboro Lake, where the ice was cut. Then Book keeper and manager of the Ice Plant in East Liberty. In 1912 he started his own business. Registered it as the Fort Pitt Ice Co. He had 3 wagons built, bought a team of mules and 3 horses.
  Also in 1912 he met Mom. She helped serve at the boarding house where he was staying. After one of their weekly bridge club meetings, at which she occasionally helped, dad offered to take her home.
  After they married,they boarded with friends, Emma and Joe Montgomery, untill their first home was ready at 6712 McPherson Blvd.
 Their next house was at 420 Lincoln Ave. 12 rooms with a high fence around the house, carriage house etc. They stayed there till Bill was readyto start school. then they moved to 7046 Reynolds street. Bill attended Sterrett School. In 1932 we moved out to Rodi Corners.Then to Jacksons Farm where Bill died. Next move was to Camp Joanne. I went to Paulton heights School and Betty went toApollo Hi-School where she met Buck. Thenwe moved to Graham Farm on Beatty Rd. From there to Nesliner Farm and into Wilkinsburg in1938. Dad had signed a note for somebody and that is how we lost the house on Reynolds St. He worked hard all his life but he never seemed to recover from that loss.
  Buried in Sunset View Memorial Park Cemetary, grave lot #14, near flag pole.
 Died in Mercy Hospital, after 2 years of fighting cancer. Carcinoma left buconal mucosso. Died Monday morning, 8:30. Immediate cause of death, pneumonia.
