Note: Transcribed by Sam: Letter from Helen Roessing (Piano Teacher) to Marie Wilkins Palmer. Envelope post marked Pittsburgh, PA - June 11, 1928 Return address Helen Roessing 5624 Rippey Street Pitts, PA Saturday morning Dear Mrs. Palmer, I surely appreciate the kind note that accompanied your check. Edna told me on the quiet about your unfortunate accident. I am sorry that it happened, but I hope that your injury will be only temporary. I still have great faith in Edna's musical talent. I repeat myself in telling you that she may earn her living by the music profession, teaching, playing the organ in Church or the Movies, or by supervising in the public schools. She has unusual ability, but of course has not come to the place to realize that hours of work must be done. It is hard to be serious in your teens, but let us not loose hope. Two weeks from tomorrow, I shall go to Chicago to learn more about teaching the child and also learn more about composing. Hoping you have completely recovered and that the summer will be a pleasant one for the Palmers, is the wish of Helen Roessing EDNA COUCH Edna M.
