Notes
a. Note:   Eliza Jane Jolly married first Raphael Green Beavin, son of Henry Beavin, one of the first Catholic settlers in Hardinsburg. He was instrumental in founding St. Romuald's Catholic Church there. This couple made their home on a 160 acre farm on Clover Creek in Breckinridge Co., KY. Raphael Beavin took pneumonia in the fall of 1843 and died three months before their third daughter was born. Apparently, Eliza went to live with her parents after Raphael's death; she is shown on the 1850 Breckinridge Co. Census as being in the home of her parents.
Henry Miller and Eliza Jolly Beavin were married in the Samuel Jolly home in the presence of Nathan Board and Richard Burdett. Henry was the son of Christopher Miller of Breckinridge Co., KY. Eliza Jane Jolly Beavin Miller survived her second husband by almost nineteen years. She spent most of this time in the homes of her married daughters. She travelled on a horse, carried her own personal belongings which always included a corn-cob pipe and a box of snuff, in a carpet bag which she kept hung over the horn of her side-saddle.
