Phoebe Snodgrass, b. 17 Jan 1809, OH; d. 23 Jan 1883 in Weeping Water, NE of Old age & Inflamation of Stomach
After marriage moved to Auglaize County, Ohio and then to Allen County. Stayed in Allen County except for last 4 years spent in Cass County, Nebraska. Died at the home of son in law C.C. Hadsell in Weeping Water, Nebraska. Buried in Weeping Water cemetery. Member of the Baptist church. Paper articles indicate that she had five sons and four daughters. Articles also indicate that she is survived by 3 sons and 2 daughters. She was a member of the Baptist church. The 1880 census of Cass county, NE shows Phoebe and grandaughter with Hadsells.

Death certificate which was registered June 9, 1872 lists death date as April 5, 1871. Date of June 4, 1871 taken from Barr hand written notes. Gravestone also says June 4. Death certificate does not list the names of his parents. Death certificate says born in Greene County, Ohio. Place of death and last residence, Perry town.

1860 census of Allen County (p342) has John W, Phebe, John, Joseph, Minerva, James, Robert, Henry and Sarah.
1870 Allen Co OH, Perry twp. [p. 490?] has John, Phebe, Decator, James, Eliza, and Sarah; Also living with them are Elizabeth Roney and Kiziah Roney, age 6. Elizabeth Roney and a John Barr are also listed in census of Ottawa Twp., Allen Co [p. 432?]. They are listed with Margaret Naftzger, age 50, and her two children ages 8 and 10 (A Margaret Barr married a George Naftzger 4/1859 in Allen Co. Don't know if any relation. This John Barr may be son of Margaret). Elizabeth is listed as domestic servant and John as keeping eating saloon.
