Note: unknown Logan is the son of Sir Robert Logan of Restalrig.1 Child of unknown Logan <tab>Elizabeth Logan <p33535.htm>+1 Citations [S34 <s3.htm>] Peter Townend, editor, Burke's Peerage and Baronetage, 105th edition (London, U.K.: Burke's Peerage Ltd, 1970), page 836. Hereinafter cited as Burke's Peerage, 105th ed. Alexander was one of the sons of Robert Logan, the last Baron of Restalrig, who was disgraced and posthumously "executed" for treason. In 1616 Alexander and other members of the family were pardoned by a Parliamentary Reversal of Attainder, but the family never recovered ist status or its former possessions. Alexander appears to have been rather "wild" in his behaviour and was several times in trouble with the authorities. (This is mentioned by the main Logan "historian" but he does not give all the details.) According to the Register of the Privy Council, he had unsettled debts, he failed to appear in court when summoned (more than once), he interfered with legally arrested goods - he and others made off with these goods - he was violent, carried firearms illegally and threatened those who complained about his actions. He, and others acting with him, were to be committed to the Tollbooth (prison) in Edinburgh, but Alexander absconded. IV. Alexander; born about 1590 to second wife Jonet Ker; married ?; father of the "Cumnock" line; died after 1645 in Stenton, East Lothian.
