Note: 1930 census resides in Webberville village, LeRoy Twp, Ingham County, Michigan. Age 18, boarder in household of John Galbraith, occupation school teacher. Atkin, Ione E. - 1100 E. Wilson Rd., age 63, died Monday, May 26, 1975, at St. Joseph Hospital. Funeral services will be held at 1 pm Thursday at the Mt.Morris Church of the Nazarene, Rev. Russell Stanley, Rev. Clayton Knolton and Rev. Lawrence Neff officiating. Burial in Flint Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call at the Benjamin & Whipple Funeral Home, Clio. Mrs. Atkin will lie in state at the church from 11 am Thursday until time of service. Mrs. Atkin was born in Birch Run, May 31, 1911, the daughter of Ira A. and Millie (Bowser) Spencer and had resided in the Clio area most of her life. She married Alvin Atkin at Taymouth, Michigan, June 22, 1932. She was a member of Mt. Morris Church of the Nazarene where she taught Sunday School, was the choir director and taught Junior Church. She was a member of Child Evangelism, taught piano lessons in her home for 40 years, and was a school teacher in Clio area schools for 8 years, retiring in 1973. Surviving are: husband, Alvin; 2 sons, Daniel of Flint and Samuel of Clio; 2 daughters, Mrs. Elaine Monk of Clio and Mrs. Mildred Wagner of Davison; 12 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Edna Sauve of Sylvania, Ohio and Mrs. Catherine Fons of Saginaw; 2 sisters-in-law, Mrs. Avo Spencer and Mrs. Adeline Spencer, both of Saginaw; several nieces, nephews, cousins.
