Note: N207 Samuel Dalzell was born in Newry, N. Ireland in 1778, married Mary Chambers of Dromore, Co. Down, Ire. and came to America in 1827, settling in Mt. Jackson, PA, where he died.. Samuel was the son of William and Nancy Cairns Dalzell. " . . . his father being Samuel Dalzell, who came to this country in 1827 and settled in Lawrence county, PA where he spent his remaining years. He was the son of William Dalzell who was born in Scotland and emigrated to Ireland with the chief of their clan�the Earl of Carnwath. There they took up a large tract of land in what is known as the Ulster plantation. Note: N1146 Samuel DALZELL and Mary Bruce were from Down County Benrw, Drumgooland Ireland. In 1837/38 they went with their respective parents to Hinchenbrooke, Quebec, Canada where they became husband and wife, later moving to Freeport,Illinois.
