KERR SAMUEL 36 M W PA PA LAWRENCE MAHONING TWP 1870 Only a possibility here. I found this man with a wife named Elizabeth (Eliza could be short for Elizabeth) who would be about the right age for Eliza Kerr, mother of Wilda Estella Kerr. There is no Maggie or Margaret in this family however. It's not proven Estella had any siblings. Richard Hitchcock March 15, 2004.

12 Feb 2005: I found a possible couple who could be Wilda Estella Kerr's parents. There was a record of Samuel D. Kerr marrying Eliza Ann Dicks in Muscatine County, Iowa, on 21 July 1856. The record was found in "Muscatine County Iowa Marriage Records 1837 - 1879", compiled by Marlin W. Brossart, 1980. Library of Congress catalog number 79-57460. A volunteer lookup replied to my email, informing me this was an unlikely couple for Wilda's family. 14 Feb 2005.

MacIlhair MULCAIR, Wilhair: Nine synonyms of Carr were reported to the Registrar general by local registration officers. First there is Kerr. This equation was noted in the Coleraine and Lisburn districts and its spelling variants Ker and Karr in Co. Down. Kerr is a very common name in northeast Ulster. Kerr is among the forty most numerous surnames in Scotland and the majority of the Irish Kerrs of today are originally Scottish. Isolated cases occur in Munster even as early as 1375: when Richard Kerr was a collector of taxes in Co. Tipperary.
