Murphy: Thanks for your reply. We corresponded a couple of years ago and you
supplied me with information on my grandmother, Carrie May Friday and her
ancestors and descendants. It's great to hear from you again and I appreciated
so much all the information you supplied.
As I said, I only know of May and George Dismukes having the two sons, Elliot and
Thomas Edwin "Tom", but I have always wondered if there were others. My mother
was very close to Uncle Elliot and Uncle Tom. Uncle Elliot was married to my
father's sister, Mattie Lou Holder. He died of cancer in Mississippi in the
mid-1960-s. Uncle Tom was married twice but I only knew his second wife whose
first name was Syra. They lived in San Francisco and I believe Uncle Tom died
 there.

  Hi, Murphey,
Great to hear from you again. Thanks so much for the information on Theresa
Hamilton's ancestors. I have no information past her parents, so I am very glad
to get this. You mentioned that you have two children for Theresa; I only have
 one listed . . . Marion Vernon Friday, my g-grandfather . . . I would appreciate
it if you could let me know the name of the other one.
My grandmother was Carrie May Friday (she went by "May"), the eldest daughter of
Marion Vernon Friday and Dora Elizabeth Jones, and as we've discussed before, we
must be cousins. You supplied all of the information I have on the Friday family,
and I am so grateful to you. My mom died in 1972 of cancer and I wish she could
have known all this; she would have been so fascinated. She was only 8-years old
when May died after giving birth, and I don't think she ever got over missing her
 mother.
  Thanks again,

I am wondering if we might have some sort of connection here in the name Friday. I have a Carrie Mae Friday, born 1874 in Noxubee County, Mississippi, daughter of Marion Vernon Friday, born 1849. The reason I think there might be a connection is the fact that Carrie Mae Friday married John Albert Eichelberger. John Albert's father was William Henry Eichelberger, born in Newberry, South Carolina. I see the reference to Richard Strother that you have. William Henry Eichelberger's wife was Effie Winlock Hughey, daughter of Daniel Hughey and Nancy Rachel Strother. Nancy was daughter of Richard Strother of Newberry County, South Carolina. My great grand mother was Nancy Elizabeth Rosannah Eichelberger, daughter of William Eichelberger and Effa Hughey. Let me know if any of this fits.
