a. Note:   Was called Jack as a young boy, however his daughter Maurine remembers him being called " Mr. Jack " by the town folk of Pollard. He was the owner of Ranger Oil Company and was located on Milby St. in Houston, Texas He enjoyed farming and had fruit trees. He enjoyed the idea of cross pollinating an orange tree with a grapefruit tree. This is an idea that has come true in the 1990's. He always had a boat at the end of the pier and had a rail system designed and installed at his bay home to handle a 24 ft boat. My father told me of the times he and his father would take the boat up into Clear Creek to ride out a hurricane. He showed me where they would tie the boat up to the railroad tressle.
