Note: HI7 Note: (Research): I remember hearing my uncles talk about Aunt Tinnie who was legendary for her discipline techniques, "Aunt Tinnie was a tough ole broad" (James H Harris) It is thought this was A. Jack Simmons Grandma told me that when she was young, some bushwackers came by while she was at Aunt Tinnie's and they hung Aunt Tinnie's husband up in a tree. As soon as the bushwackers left, the women pulled the kitchen table out and put it under him so he could stand up until they could run for help to get him cut down. The neighbors helped cut him down. He survived but had a terrible scar around his neck. That's all that I remember, I was only about 9 years old when she told me the story. It left quite an impression. She said that bushwackers were common during her childhood and that there was little law in their area. Christine Harris Gibson
