a. Note:   Believed to have emigrated prior to 1735 and settled near Sugar Loaf Mountain in Federick County, Maryland. He was the younger brother of Snowden Sargent who owned an estate called Snow Hill Farm about ten miles from London, England. His father, James, is believed to have died about 1740 and was thought to be buried at Church of St. Bartholomew the Great, London; although not confirmed. Also some thought he or his wife may be buried at St. Sepulchre Church yard, London, which is near Snow Hill road. James Sr. served in American Revolution as a Patriot on Committee of Observation and List of Associators.
