Note: In 1841, John was living with his parents James and Mary at Corney Hill, Quernmore, Lancaster with his siblings Oliver, Thomas, Ellen, & Mary. In 1851, John and Isabella were living at Witton Farm House, Witton with their 4 month old son Thomas. John was working as a farmer. According to the birth certificate of James in 1853, John worked as a Cowman at Witton Park. In 1861, John, Isabella and two new children James and Mary were living at 4 Moor Place, Lancaster. James was in school and John was working as a an Agricultural Labourer. Thomas was staying at Corney Hill Farm with his Grandmother and uncles/ Aunt and attending school. By 1871 following their death of their mother, Johns children James, Mary and Thomas, moved to Corney Hill Farm to stay with their Uncles and Aunt. John lodged with the Edmondson family at 19 Alfred Street South, Lancaster. He was working as a warehouseman and wine and sheet (?) merchant. In 1881, he was lodging with 3 other people at 4 Margarets Fold, Lunesdale, Caton. John was listed as being a Farm Labourer By 1891, John had moved in with his brother Oliver and sister Mary and daughter Mary at Corney Hill Farm, Quernmore. He was working the land with Oliver and his daughter Mary was working as a general domestic servant. In 1901, John moved in with his sister Mary Ann and her husband Oliver at 24 Clark Street, Poulton, Bare & Torrisholme. John was listed as being a Farm Labourer
