a. Note:   Lawrence Green quit school, at Alvin, IL. after completing the 8th grade. He attended the "Green School". He worked on the home farm. At age 15, Lawrence worked for Perry Graham, farming Perry's 320 acres, earning $30 a month, with room and board. Lawrence lived at the home place until 1936. He took care of his father, Charles, while Charles was ill. In 1936, Lawrence and his mother moved into town at Alvin. She sold the farm to Mermon Call's son, Bert, who was a banker in Alvin. *************************************************************** After Lawrence married Virginia, they lived several places, including Mississippi, where William, the youngest child was born. They moved to Ridge Farm in 1951, living there about 10 years. They then built a home Georgetown, in 1961, residing there until their deaths.
