Notes
a. Note:   I don't have real proof of Joseph SANDOR's immigration date. But there was a Joseph SANDOR who filed a declaration of intent in Manitowoc County in November 1904, and he said he had come to New York in May 1896. There is only one person listed as immigrating in May 1896 whose name is similar to Joseph SANDOR, and he did indeed immigrate to New York, aboard the ship 'Kensington'. He also listed his destination as Johnstown, and my great-grandfather ended up in Johnstown by about 1904 or 1905. I suspect he went to Manitowoc because that was where Michael LAKATOS, brother of Joseph's wife Mary LAKATOS, was living.
The ship list says Joseph was 34, i.e. born in 1862, in Hungary. The declaration of intent says that Joe SANDOR was born in 1872, but it listed Poland as his home. The 1900 census of Manitowoc lists Joseph SHONDA as having been born in May 1872, in Hungary. Despite the inconsistencies, I am convinced that the Joe SANDOR who filed his declaration of intent in November 1904 was the same as the May 1896 immigrant aboard the 'Kensington', and was my great-grandfather.
Joseph SHANDOR was listed in the 1899-1900 Manitowoc City Directory at 424 N. 9th St. upstairs. Michael LAKATOS, his brother-in-law, lived nearby at 427 N. 8th St.
