Note:   William Whitby & Ruth Gorsuch Emigration from England to Virginia ~1638 William Whitby was born in 1611 in Hull, Yorkshire, England and died about 1676 in Warwick, Middlesex County, Virginia. William Whitby lived in Warwick county, which he represented in the house of burgesses in 1641, 1652, 1653, 1654; presiding as speaker in 1653. He received two considerable tracts of land, one in Warwick, where he lived, and the other on Potomac creek. He married Ruth Gorsuch, daughter of Rev. John Gorsuch, and  Anne Lovelace GORSUCH Anne (Lovelace) 1610-VA CD17 1676, 11 Jul: William Whitby of Middlesex, by his will dated this date, gave 100 lbs. to Maj. Robert Beverley and 100 lbs. and half his land on Potomac Creek to Mrs. Mary Keeble. Enclyclopedia of Virginia Biolgraphy IV-Bugesses and Other Prominent Persons pp. 245 , 358 William Whitby lived in Warwick county, which he represented in the house of burgesses in 1641, 1652, 1653, 1654; presiding as speaker in 1653. He received two considerable tracts of land, one in Warwick, where he lived, and the other on Potomac creek. He married Ruth Gorsuch, daughter of Rev. John Gorsuch, and Anne Lovelace, sister of Colonel Francis Lovelace , and had a son William, who lived in Middlesex county, Virginia, and died about 1676 issueless.
