a. Note:   llie" were accepted as members of Rock Creek/Silver Creek Baptist church in Oct 1826. James was described by his wife as being a farmer with black hair, eyes and dark complexion and of medium height. Very likely of Indian descent. They lived in Rutherford, Maury, Weakley and then Gibson County, TN where James died. Millie Arnold was still there in 1850 living next to her apparent brothers John and Joel Gilliland.
  The second "UNKNOWN" marriage noted here is incorrect, but am unable to correct the error.
  Did they too go to Morgan Co., IL briefly and return to TN? There is a James 'Arnett" there in 1830, a distance away from other Arnolds and Joel Gillilan, most of whom returned to Gibson Co., TN by 1840.
